QUILTING GROUP: The Quilting Group meets Monday mornings at 9:15 a.m. They are in their 10th year and have sewn over 900 quilts which have been donated and distrubuted to many charity organizations like Boca Helping Hands, Caring Kitchen, Lippmann Youth Shelter, Lutheran Ministeries of Florida, and Lutheran World Relief. Come and join them for fun and fellowship in this very rewarding cause. CHOIR: The choir practices every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. During Lent, rehearsal is moved to Wednesdays from 7:45 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. SUNDAY SCHOOL: Sunday School is at 9:15 a.m. and meets between the early and late services. Children have an opportunity to participate in varied activities that related to the lesson, such as watching movies, providing refreshments for our Sunday Fellowship hour, making clay models, singing, shopping for Boca Helping Hands Food Bank, craft projects, and much more. Curriculums are available for children from elementary school age through 8th grade. ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL: The Adult Sunday School class also meets at 9:15 and is led by either Pr. Endruschat or Pr. Geweke. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: The theme for our 2011 VBS program is "Inside Out & Upside Down on Main Street: Where Jesus Makes A Difference Every Day." It will be held Monday June 13 through Friday June 17. The program will run from 6 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. each night and is available for ages Pre-K and Up. There's even a program for adults. Please contact the Church office for registration information or if you'd like to volunteer to help. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASS: This class offers children who are at kindgarten and above the opportunity for a wider participation in the Sacrament of Holy Communion on a regular basis. What is important here is the conversation between parten, child and pastor to say when the time is right for 1st Holy Communion. This is a small focused insturction on the basic Biblical narrative that leads us to the Sacrament. CONFIRMATION CLASS: This class is available for those eligible for confirmation and continues twice a month on Sunday afternoons. Students having finished a full year of 6th and 7th grade Sunday school are eligible, at the pastor's evaluation, for confirmation class and the Rite of Confirmation at the end of the 8th grade. W.E.L.C.A.: The Good Shepherd "Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America" organize many fundraising events and social activities throughout the year, including "Junk In The Trunk" which raises money for the church and other non-profit organizations. Interested in being a part of W.E.L.C.A.? Please contact the church office for information on their next meeting. |
